On the whole, I’d rather be in Delftadelphia

Blue-and-white china is a lovely thing indeed. I have rarely seen any that I did not like, at least a bit, at least the colour scheme if not the pattern. Because while green is queen, blue is definitely her consort, and the consort’s most worthy consort is white.

And while I like traditional blue-and-white china plenty much, I love, with big juicy loveburgers, when some cheeky artist takes that tradition and tweaks its nose. Yes. Nose-tweakery. I am all about that, every day and in every way.

    Love the beer cans!

There is a Toronto artists named Ho Tam who has painted a series he calls “Ming Blue”. He also made a video, titled “Fine China,” that you can see here:

This whole thing is full of WIN! I’m loving the ‘dress’ at the very top – it made me want to make a fabric one of similar fabric.

Love.it.all. Especially the skull. Our dishes are this – the blue and white, with dragons and flowers and such. I’ve never been happy with my dishes until these. There is a timelessness in the design, pattern, color, too. Delightful post, for sure.

Oh my Maude, this is a gorgeous collection. Nothing makes me happier than something pretty and benign (like blue-and-white china) made into something strange/dangerous/amazing. Thank you!

oh dude, the broken things things, and the crushed cans!

and btw, blue only lets green be queen because she knows that the title wouldn’t do her justice.

if i were to ever have a wedding cake, if i were ever to have a wedding, if i were ever to get remarried, i’d want the porcelain lovers on top of my wedding cake, if i were ever to have a wedding, if i were ever to get remarried.
